jennifer lacroix, MA, Lmft

Jennifer is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and has held a MN license since 2010. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota and her graduate studies at the University of Connecticut. Jennifer believes that a warm and empathic therapeutic relationship is essential in helping clients achieve the change they seek. She views therapy as a way to rekindle clients' natural ability to heal, thrive, and experience a more connected, vibrant, and fulfilling life.

In her practice, Jennifer holds reverence for the power of feeling heard and strives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment conducive to acceptance and healing. Jennifer is trained and has been certified in TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, and EMDR. She tailors her treatment interventions according to each client's unique presentation and needs. Jennifer is creative, curious, collaborative, and values humor and flexibility in her clinical work. She has worked as a therapist in various clinical settings, including home-visiting for juvenile offenders in Washington D.C., community mental health in Hartford, CT, a residential treatment center for suicidal teenage girls in Blaine, MN, as well as private practice and academic settings.

Jennifer's current clinical interests include trauma, loss, grief, mind-body connection, healing, and holistic family therapy, complex trauma, and historical and intergenerational trauma.

She lives in Crocus Hill and co-parents three school-age children who attend public schools in the neighborhood. Jennifer has an 11-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever-Australian Shepherd mix named Harper and an incredible collection of houseplants. She practices yoga daily and enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, gardening, hiking, or simply hanging around with her kids, building snowmen in the winter or waiting for the ice cream truck in the summer (with her kids, of course!).
